Exeter Chiefs and Saracens face off in the other semi-final clash at Sandy Park on Sunday (KO 3pm), as the Prem15s tournament reaches its conclusion.
Both semi-finals between the top four sides promise to showcase a significant number of Welsh internationals hoping to reach the showcase final at Kingsholm on Saturday, June 24th.
Wales half-backs Keira Bevan and Elinor Snowsill are key players for the Bears, while flanker Beth Lewis and Six Nations player of the championship nominee Sisilia Tuipulotu and Kelsey Jones both feature for Gloucester.
Georgia Evans who helped Saracens lift the title last season is with Saracens and her Wales second-row partner, Abbie Fleming, is with Exeter Chiefs.
Ioan Cunningham, the Wales Head coach, said: “As a Wales coaching team we will be at Gloucester for what promises to be an exciting and uncompromising semi-final play-off between two of the most consistent sides in the Prem.
“To have such a significant Welsh representation in both squads is a credit to the players and to be able to see how they perform in the knockout stages of a tournament will be invaluable.
“Both teams are well coached and full of talent and it promises to be a special occasion. These are the types of games where you learn about players and how they deal with the pressure of big high-profile games.
“The Prem semi-finals are the sharp end of the competition and there is so much at stake for all four sides, having Welsh internationals playing key roles in all the sides show how much they have developed.
“The players have taken the confidence they built in the recent Six Nations on with their respective clubs and that can only be good for us as we look ahead to Wales’ WVX campaign in New Zealand in the Autumn.
“It’s obviously great to see Alisha Butchers back in action and we all know how hard she has worked to get back on the field. Courtney Keight and Lisa Neumann have both shown what a threat they can be with ball in hand.
“We have Georgia and Abby, who combined so well in the recent Six Nations for us, in the Exeter and Saracens semi-final and that promises to be great duel.”
