Calling all songwriters, performers, choirmasters and lyricists the Welsh Rugby Union has opened a new competition which could see your song feature as part of the pre-match entertainment for Wales’ meeting with Australia at Principality Stadium this autumn.
All you have to do is send us your song, inspired by the phrase above which is taken from the WRU’s new strategy for Welsh rugby.
The song can include these lines in the lyrics or simply be inspired by the sentiment that, in Wales, rugby matters more!
You may be a soloist or a young Welsh band looking to get their first hit or you may be established but looking for a new way to show your talents to the Welsh public.
Young or old, we are delighted to accept entries from school and rugby club choirs, budding amateur bands or new artists breaking through. All you need to do is ensure your song is original and will fit in with the tense atmosphere of a Principality Stadium matchday.
You could be writing the new anthem for Welsh rugby as the WRU will adopt your song and promote it on its own social media channels as well as securing time in Evolution recording studios in Cardiff for you to record and release your song in a professional manner.

Our judges will include members of the Wales men’s and women’s squad ‘music committees’, and the singer songwriter and radio presenter Bronwen Lewis.

• Reading and accepting the Terms and conditions of entry.
• Submit your song to Social@wru.wales – via we transfer or dropbox, with a full transcript of the lyrics, by the Friday 1st November 5pm.
• The Winner will be notified by email on Monday 4th November
