The former Wales wing suffered his injury against Benetton Treviso last March and has been forced to wait a long time to make his return.
Pontypool will have three Dragons players in their ranks, as well as former Scarlets and Wales centre Scott Williams. Jordan Williams features at full back, while another player currently out of favour at Rodney Parade, scrum half Dane Blacker, is on the bench.
Also included among the replacement is the 30-year-old Tongan international Solomone Funaki. Signed from Moana Pasifika in the summer he has yet to play a game due to a knee injury.
Funaki had surgery to clean out an existing issue with the aim of hitting the ground running for his new club only to then suffer an infection. The closest he has got to playing in Wales to date has been warming up before recent Dragons games.
Llandovery, the reigning Indigo Premiership title holder, will have the chance to go top of SRC table if they can beat their Gwent rivals.
Currently lying in third place, two points behind league leaders Ebbw Vale, the Drovers will be seeking a double over Pontypool who they just managed to pip 21-18 in the opening game of the season.
The game is one of the many postponed due to stormy weather and if they do take over at the top they will have played one more game than the top two clubs, Ebbw Vale and Cardiff.
Pontypool currently sit in sixth place and won’t be back in league action until 22 March, when they welcome Carmarthen Quins to Pontypool Park. All 10 teams enter the SRC Cup next week.
